Brigitte Theriault

Photographer , artist  multidisciplinary and entrepreneurial.

Born in Charlesbourg in Quebec City, Canada in 1974.

"From 1988 to 1991, I experimented with different photography and darkroom techniques. After studying in this field in Montreal, I became a professional and worked in various fields such as fashion, events and artist portraits. My photographs were published in several magazines and newspapers in Quebec. In 1994, I was the author of about ten covers for the cultural newspaper Voir de Québec. Over time, I also moved into the world of advertising photography and interior design.

In 2007, I put forward my collections of traditional photographs in limited edition, my minimalist natures made their entrance into art galleries and were represented across Canada and the United States.

Occasionally, I am a teacher, speaker and judge for various photographic events and I share my travel photo stories in various magazines and newspapers such as Nomade Mag, Le Soleil and La Presse.

From 2013 to 2019, I left Quebec with my husband and our three children to live a fascinating immersion adventure on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. This experience inspired me to create, with my photographs of the tropical flora of Kauai, a collection of floral patterns, the  collection  Kauai

Of  back  At  Quebec , I focus my efforts on my more artistic interests such as design, ceramics and still, art photography and I  developed  a  new  
collection  of  patterns  floral from Quebec , the Quebec Garden collection  
Thus  that  there  creation  of  several  products  derivatives  100 %  do  At  Quebec .
In 2023, I design and undertake the construction of the Maison Lilas Paulina ,
a complete work that brings together all my artistic activities and which was erected to pay tribute to the woman who encouraged me throughout my career, my mother RIP Pauline Martin (Thériault) 1947-2023." BT

Artistic approach

Artist photographer Brigitte Thériault does not limit her field of action to a discourse on photography. An impressionist artist, she submits her photographic eye to film, she cultivates raw instinct.

A globetrotter, she strives to capture the beauty of a landscape, of a fleeting moment caught on the sly, her work is resolutely aesthetic, she approaches photography like a painting. This thirst for wild freedom, this quest for the sublime and the ideal, so dear to romantic minds, are revealed in her series "Vivia" and "Pastel", two series that contrast light and darkness, lost paradise and realism, languor and happiness, solitude and family.

Among the exhibitors on rue Sainte-Anne, Brigitte Theriault is a multidisciplinary artist born in Quebec. A passionate photographer, she imagines patterns on fabrics, from her images.
